In the early days of America, people would have held a revolution for this kind of outrageous taxation. Now people just cheat them or accept it. NO ONE should have to pay 30% of their earnings to the government, Jesus H. Christ. I've always felt strongly about this issue. Besides, knowing how wasteful the government is with tax dollars, they would be given the incentive to do useful things with tax money if much less were deducted, say 10-15%.

There's a ton of bullshit in this thread. The average person (i.e. people who have ~$40k a year salaries) get to take home about 75% of the money they earn per year. The rest goes to medicare, income tax, insurance, etc. It's impossible to pay 50% of your salary to the tax man, unless you're very, very, very not average. Even above 30% is pretty rare if you're upper middle class and below.
