I think I will give the benefit of the doubt to the OP and assume he means which actor tends to do the greatest job of playing overtly hardcase characters. And that's very hard decision for me to make. Automatically I'd say that for me it's a tie between Rutger Hauer & Yul Brynner.

After some more purposeful contemplation I'm sure I could come up with a definitive answer that many of you when shown would agree with, but such a thin I don't have the time or capacity for right now in my post inebriated state.
