Exactly. So it is alive as the last time you saw it, it was alive. You cannot confirm it's death but you can confirm it was alive when you last saw it. Without any evidence to the contrary you must rely upon what you know. The cat was alive when you put it in the box.

Geiger counters measure alpha radiation, i.e. a very strong source of gamma radiation will not register. so as long as nothing inside the box posesses any form of alpha decay then the cat will not die from poison, just suffocation.

I assume most people here are aware of Schrödinger's cat. It seems this thread is twisting the idea to promote discussion, and to make you assume this is just repeating the theory. Though i think this was intentional as a trick question, to get people to overthink the situation.
