So you just print out the modified web page? Do they accept printed out bank statements as proof of income, I thought it had to be an actual posted out bank statement.

This is a horrible (I mean good) idea. The only bad thing that could happen is that the landlord actually wants a post marked copy, but then you could just forge that with an envelope. It gets trickier when you're 16 and not officially emancipated.

Some do, but just stick it in an envelope from your bank or credit union and you're golden.

This. Sometimes you have to go back about 3 months for it to count as proof of income. This is why it's also important to pick a job where you wouldn't necessarily be getting pay stubs, which is why freelance type things like web design usually don't get met with many questions.

Just add digits to your balance, who cares about income when you're rocking 650k in your account. Why not $6,500,000.00? It works.

Why would you ever want anyone to think you had that amount of money ?

Thank you, Syphilis.

Maybe for some small time stuff. Maybe go to a real expensive car dealership and tell them you really want a certain car and that you will not be making payments, paying it in full up front. If you show them you have mad bank, they may lend you the car for the day?

Or the real deal... you ready? Leave the fake html page up on a your monitor so the lil' materialistic cunt you're trying to bang just happens to come across the account that you accidentally left up. BIG TIME!
JK, I don't really have any real good reasons off the top of my head.

Wow this is fucking great. My friends have been asking me to do something like this for them for a while now but I could never figure out the best way.

Thanks. This is a pretty fail proof way.

One thing I forgot to mention in the OP is that some banks use alternating colors for withdrawls and deposits, so when you look at the final page make sure you look it over before printing.
