Default Western Union Scams

Hypothetically speaking, assume I wanted to pull off a scam using Western Union, and Craigslist. Now assuming that there are some idiots on Craigslist who ignore the Scam warnings, I was wondering if having the money wired directly to a bank account is a good idea. First of all, they require the receiver's routing number, account number, and the bank name it self. They also require information as to where you live (state, city, home address, and first and last name) is it a good idea or bad idea to actually provide the correct information? Or can you use a fake state, city, home address, as well as full name? Thanks.

Do not have the money wired into a bank account, just pick it up at a WU location. You do not need an ID unless it exceeds a certain amount, I believe $1,000, but that could be wrong.

Correct.
Don't use a bank account unless you have one set up with fake details.

Good point, thank you. I just called WU and confirmed it was $1,000 in the US, if anyone needed that information.

So can I use fake details on Western Union, while still able to transfer to my bank account?

You shouldn't be transfering anything to your bank account.

In the US it really depends on the location and the store itself, I have picked up hundreds of Western Unions over the last few years, all legitimate of course, but I was forced to provide ID each and every time.

you can only receive the 1000 or less, if the sender provides a Secret question/answer.
