The Wanting Seed
Has anybody read this fantastic book? It's written by Anthony Burgess (writer of 'A Clockwork Orange') about a futuristic world where overpopulation has become a problem and there is a vast shortage of food. People live only in skyscrapers to save space. Couples are limited to 1 child each to control population and homosexuality is favored for the same reason. Practicing religion is a punishable offense and so is protesting. I purchased it a while back and never read it...well last night I found it and brought it to work. I finished more than half of it. I could barely put it down. I can't wait to finish it when I have to work Thanksgiving.

This beautiful city called "Earth" makes me nauseous. The natives are obnoxious and the trees recycle gossip. The fruits are thought to be healthy, yet essential to becoming one of the tribe.
