I almost killed my mom.

One day a few months ago i Was really hurting for a fix. I had been sober for 2 days and as the rest of you drug addicts know this is not a good situation.

So i remembered having read about ether and how you can get it out of engine starter fluid. So i walked down to the pep boys and stole myself a can. When home and did a crude water extraction i saw on the internet and i poured a little into a water bottle. I took a few huffs and started to feel like shit. I then decided it wasn't for me. Somehow i ended up dropping the bottle behind my computer desk.

So yesterday my phone fell back there and i went to get it and found the bottle. I had completely forgotten what the fuck it was. I placed it somewhere near my kitchen which is not to far away in my tiny apartment.

So my mom came home later and was looking for a bottle to put water in and found that one in the kitchen. she poured water about till about half way and took a drink. She didn't notice right away so she told me she took a a few swigs.

Then she noticed and started yelling at me. Then i remember what was in the bottle and I'm like "oh shit"!! . I tried to play it off and say it was paint thinner but she didn't believe me and started calling me a drug addict and saying i was huffing glue.

I called the poison control center and they told me to make her throw up and drink water. so she did it but she felt all "numb" probably because of the ether. But the poison control guy said she didn't need to go to the hospital so she didn't.

The whole situation was really fucked up and i feel guilty about it. It could have ended up much worse.

Anyway i actually think i smoked some poison the other day,

I had dropped some weed under my computer desk once and forgot about it. Then some other day i was spraying for roaches. It wasn't raid it was some strong like industrial strength poison. I sprayed a bunch under the desk.

So the week after i found the weed it smelled kind of chemically but i smoked it anyway. completely forgot about the poison. my mouth went numb and i started feeling really fucked up like i was tripping on some crazy drug.

The shit at car stores don't contain ether anymore. However, I stopped by a parts shop for tractors and other farm equipment and the starting fluid they sold did contain ether.

WD-40 used to be extremely flammable and work worth a shit, too.

1. Drinking diethyl ether isn't particularly harmful and is a valid way of taking it.
2. A crude water extraction on starting fluid will yield something a long way from being pure ether.
3. How the fuck could someone pick up a bottle with that shit in it, top it up with water, and start to drink it before noticing anything was different? It stinks. Regardless, leaving it in the kitchen in an unmarked bottle was a bad idea.

I remember reading somewhere that if anything, you would be getting less ether and more of whatever other bad chemicals are in there (halogen gases or something?) by trying a water extraction. It's a lot more complicated than that to separate the ether.

My mom constantly drinks the same type of .5 liter plastic Poland spring bottles and leaves them laying all over the place (tiny apartment). She also picks them up and fills them without bothering to wash them because they are her own bottles.

I had marked it with a piece of masking tape over the cap but after the months of being down the the tape must have fallen off.

It was quite an unlucky turn of events.
