Default Taser proof clothing.

I don't know if this should actually go here, but the mods will move it if it belongs somewhere else.

I need to know what types of clothes are more resistant to tasers, my guess is leather or possibly denim, is my guess accurate?

Need lots of layers, (sweater and shits, not just shirts), cardboard, a vest (bullet) or something of the like. We've discussed this before, and the general idea is that the pins shoot out with enough force to penetrate most shit.

Body armor might be your best bet.

But, be aware, most PDs using TASERs switch to the longer "Winter Darts" when they are anticipating using TASERs on people that are wearing heavy clothing.

That is an interesting idea. However would the needle just not penetrate the chain mails many holes. Also would the current be carried round the circuit by just the metal chain mal, as I assume it would have good conductive properties.

what about wearing rubber as an underlayer, and then light sheet metal or chainmail ontop of that? i would be surprised if the needles could puncture thru that, not to mention you would be in rubber, counter acting the electricity.

Although the pins of the taser would probably still get through the holes in the chain mail, it would create a short between the electrodes and the wearer wouldn't even feel the shock. Electricity always takes the easiest path, and the chain mail has a much lower resistance than human flesh. My only worry is that if an electrical arc is created it may burn the wearer's skin.

I saw clothing somewhere that has conductive fibers or something woven into it that will take the brunt of the charge and keep it from passing through your body. It doesn't stop the darts from penetrating though.

Oh man, this brings back memories of that huge flame fest we had with that troll about the barbs on the taser electrodes? whatever they are. He also tried saying I had something to hide because I coverd up the serial numbers on my guns lol. Which I obviously didnt want the serials out in the open on the internet.

Yeah I thought so. But tasers use high voltage with low current right? Which would mean low potential difference across the chain mail? So if the barbs are in contact with the chain mail and the electricity doesn't have to arc, it shouldn't burn the wearer?

Yes, they are high voltage, low current, however it is the voltage that would instigate arcing. Think Van De Graff generators... They arc very well with almost no current.

Electricity will take the shortest least resistive path, therefore not shocking the person wearing it. And you won't obviously walk around with a cage... it'll be some sort of clothing. Interlaced copper wires? Fuck, I don't know.

I think your best bet would be teaching yourself how to defeat the taser with willpower like this guy, as opposed to wearing taser proof clothing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

But if thats not your cup of tea, a stab resistant vest might be a good choice (to stop the barbs from penetrating) http://www.securityprousa.com/stabproofvests.html

What about a thick wool trench coat? They're trendy and common, I see plenty of people wearing them. Think about why they invented a trench knife in the first place. They needed a knife that was guaranteed to pierce the heavy wool coats of german soldiers sitting in trenches, in WW1. I don't think those barbs would pass through all the way, wool is pretty sturdy. But as mentioned above, the winter spikes are longer, although I wonder by how much.

Anything with an enough layers or enough thickness so that the electrodes won't reach your skin, or something that will short out the electrodes.

I don't think a wool coat will stop them. Also, how can you defeat a taser with willpower? I just don't understand how you can resist your muscles contracting spontaneously.

It is pretty interesting though. It opens up the whole world of all of those cool things that seem impossible, yet still manage to happen. Still, it's hard for me to wrap my head around it.

Just make the chainmaille smaller, then. I'd like to see those needles penetrate 1/8" diameter maille.

lol, PCP or just insanity, either way, that dude should have been sent to a psych ward....that is if his god hadn't granted him the power to escape via defending himself in favor against being tazerd.

So in conclusion, you don't need special clothing to prevent tazering, you need insanity of some sort

.... a good body covering of Vaseline may help you to escape any grapple and run like hell.

Also, from that Thor Shield article, it seems like you could make a conductive fabric shirt. How about spinning some thin wire with some wool to make mettalicized yarn, and knitting it into a vest or sweater?
