3P051: Security Police.

Actually, where I am now, I was doing physical security. Fire teams and Response Forces for "Secret" areas and facilities. Rarely ever doing law enforcement duties (cop stuff) that I signed up to do, because of the bases' mission. (Check the Christmas leave thread, they ruled out leave for everyone because of how fucking important our shit is. Grrr.)

Now that I'll be going to a base with nothing BUT law enforcement duties, I'll have no idea how to do them, and I'll have been in well over 3 years. I'm sure someone will be upset that I'm not trained to do my job, but that's my base for you. Close bound sentries and other infantry duties all through my enlistment, never once doing what I signed up to do.

So in your opinion as a cop,do you guys like how the AF is contracting a lot of the BS SF duties out. i.e. gate guard,CATMS, etc?

Do you think those civilians would actually protect the base if it were attacked? I don't like it personally, feel safer with an actual S.P. on duty than a contracted rent-a-cop. Just curious as to what the actual AF cops think.
