well a typical salad is mostly lettuce and lettuce is just a filler that has nothing nutritious or life sustaining in it whatsoever. but im really not sure. i dont really think it sounds very healthy

skip the lettuce , it's a waste of space.
broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, red peppers, green peppers, cabbage, zucchini, onion, tomatoes, cucumber, mushrooms, celery ... to name a few vegetables.
Adding egg, fish or chicken pieces gets you your protein.
Throwing in some sunflower seeds or almond slices can't hurt.

If the diet is to lose weight, balsamic vinegar is all you need to dress it.
Stay away from low fat dressings as they usually have sugar and starch.
Regular dressing and oil are high in calories, but it may be argued, could be better for weightloss than low fat dressings.
Make a white dressing out of plain lowfat yogurt, vinegar and spices if you want some extra protein, along with some carbs.

You cannot just get away with salad, I am on a diet and seeing good results by this

Breakfast, low fat yoghurt (sub 50kcal per 100ml)(200ml) and 50 grams of muesli

Lunch: Low fat soup, 1 400ml can, 200 kcals or less

Dinner: Seabass, Chicken and a lot of vegetables like spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and anything else which is low in calories. I avoid potatoes, and other calorie rich foods.
