In the mid 70s, an aspiring theoretical physicist made what he and many others feel is the most important discovery in the world. This very significant film is about the resulting invention, one that can author all subsequent ideas, provide a totally unanticipated cosmology, and possibly deliver us from death.

Apparently it created 11,000 songs one weekend.

They're pretty strange.

I feel it creates ideas in a similar way to the human brain. Noise in the machine!!!!

Strange, but go figure, that it was used for war as well as life.

Also, a self-aware (almost) internet? That would change everything.

I dont like the market place being taken over by imagatrons to resale us super refined products.

I just imagine internet sites such as facebook or various fourms takeing information and ideas to resale

It is a very powerful technology, and it has already intorduced into society.

Imagine a consious web watching every person connected to technology, thus extracting information from those people for law enforcment.

As for the idea for a universal consious, and the conversation going on between parts of space is very cool, skitzo energy, fun thought.


I feel the anxiety about embraceing the this idea, obviously at the end the man speaking will be more biased towards haveing this technology evolve, and in some what I agree with him, yet I wonder if them sum of all are experinces is to truly embrace this idea to further progress humanity and culture, But I also have the suspicion that this techonolgy may not benefit every person, and im not saying it would have to be the end all, but if it ends up adding to the invisible prision we already have turning in just another restriction on human activity, then meh?

We just have a primitive brain in this exponentially growing technological civilization, where we are just running off of impulses and many people do not spen the time to train the brain to fire correctly, so in the right hands this tool may be good, but a primitive brain may use a good tool like a gun as a way to rape .

This is fascinating. I think we will have to understand what drives consciousness in order to reach our next phase in evolution. Does it exist without a vehicle, perhaps in another realm of existence, trying to find a body to secure itself to? Or is it generated by the interaction of matter and fade off when that interaction ceases? Personally I'm leaning toward the latter, but who knows.

That was really interesting. The worst thing I could imagine coming from this, however, would be the chosen few having access to the Supernet who can then use it's creative power to further subjugate everyone else through the market. Those chosen few would also be able to easily manipulate the stock markets using what basically amounts to as omniscience.

(They still have that unfair advantage now using more monolithic computing paradigms, but a supernet would also be able to make longer term investment strategies which would mean much more profit as opposed to making billions of transactions daily profiting pennies or fractions of pennies each.)
