Half-plant/half-animal creature discovered
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/...ly/?test=faces
Apparently it's a slug that produces chlorophyll and uses photosynthesis.
Pretty weird.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Give a man religion, and he'll starve praying for a fish.

Seriously though, that's an awesome discovery. Sea creatures are so complex and weird sometimes.

The real question here is, how does it have sex?

This guy has been studying them for 20 years according to the article, why are we just hearing about this? It's pretty damn cool.
Wait nevermind there's 600,000 google results.

Yeah, its really not news, and I don't see why its being reported as such. They were discovered in 1870 FFS

Yeah, it's chronologically old, but I've never heard of this before. They always told us in school about all these kinds of creatures and they told us that they were completely separate.(like how animals cannot take on the traits of difference species) This is just more proof that such ideas are outdated.

Yeah, the average person could literally grow meat on trees.

Actually we never did. Even though I live in California, I happen to live in an area that's a conservative hell hole.
Fuck, we didn't even learn about protection. Just that "the only way to have safe sex is to no have it at all". :rolleyes. Bear in mind that this was actually a public school.

Re: Half-plant/half-animal creature discovered
one word: bioshock.
we must just remember that its still only a theory of how the slugs evolved the ability to produce clorophyl, so we should infact not be all that impressed. living things have the potential to do anything, and this is a good example of that statment
