Apparently I matched the description of some douchebags, enough for the dude to be all suspicious and shit.

This is fucked, mostly because I dont carry my documents around, and have no ID otherwise.

I came out of the train station and stood there to smoke a cigarette in front of this cop car, and I hear a description come over their radio. By the time I realized I was also wearing white sneakers, blue jeans, and a black jacket they had already pressed my up against the wall.

You should always have ID. If you don't they have every right to detain you, bring you to the station, and keep you there for hours until they confirm your identity. Then, on top of that, they'll issue you a desk appearance and you might have to pay a fine.

I figured that it would be some shit like that. Fuck this, though, why should I need to carry papers?!

I was told to photocopy my passport, but that just sounds like a great way to give an officer a fake identity, since it sounds easy to edit.

You just need to show him a name to the face. They don't really have access to the federal database to see if your passport is even legit. I got pulled over upstate for speeding and the cop couldn't even run my passport for warrants, and I know I have one from Florida.

That's because Israel probably doesn't enforce statutes about not having documentation because their economy isn't so heavily dependent on the punishment of their own citizens.
