On the small end, it's bounded by Plank's Constant, the speed of light, and the constant of gravitation, which together imply a base length of 1.616x10^-35m.
On the large end, its effectively bounded for humans by the speed of light, which creates a 'visible universe' beyond which we cannot travel, and actually bounded by the expansion of the universe.
