Sam stood up suddenly, awkwardly. "Uh, hello Deanna. This is a
Counselor Troi was also surprised. She was uncertain whether it
was part of his aliment or just a new attitude that caused Data
to address her so informally. As she moved closer to him, the
unusual emotions she had felt on the Bridge became even stronger.
Something was definitely different about Data. Whether it was a
positive or a negative change, she was not prepared to say.
They both moved to the couch and sat down. As Deanna turned to
face him, she had a powerful empathic image of a lonely, lost man.
Shaking the vision off, she spoke to him gently, "Data, I'm here
professionally, as Ship's Counselor, to find out if there is
anything I can do for you, or if there is anything you would like
He hesitated, not sure how Data would respond. "Uh, no, thank you.
I'm doing much better."
"I'm glad to hear that." she said, moving even closer to him,
drawn by some inexplicable force of which she was completely
unaware. "Isn't there anything at all you would like to share
"There is," he thought, "but nothing I can reveal."
Sam felt an uncontrollable attraction growing between them and
it made him uneasy. Although by nature a warm and tender person,
he usually was not sexually spontaneous. Al thought of him as
repressed and prudish. Sam's reluctance, however, was more often
a result of his caring nature and respect for the feelings of
others. His appetites were normal and he could be a skillful
lover, but leaping around often precluded the closeness and
intimacy that he craved. There had been exceptions; and there had
been women, very little of which Sam could remember. With only
incomplete memories of past experiences to help him now, he
stared without speaking into Deanna's face and allowed an
irrepressible hunger for her to wash over him, stirring and
electrifying his body.
Deanna, mesmerized, looked deep into his eyes and saw, not
Data's yellow pupils, but two scorching orbs of green-speckled
hazelnut that set off a wet flow between her legs.
"I must be crazy." she said to herself, "This is Data; what am I
But no thinking was necessary; it was unavoidable. As the Borg
might say, resistance was futile. He put his arms around her
waist and pulled her up against him, pressing her close so she
could feel the swelling that signaled his desire. Her eyes were
still locked on his when he kissed her for the first time. The
suddenness of the movement gave him no time to think how an
android might do this; and Deanna's empathic connection to him was
flooded with passion. Android or not, Data or not, she was his.
Sam pushed her down onto the couch, which, fortunately, was
regulation size for a Starfleet officer - very large. Overcome
by his longing to possess her, he was prepared to shred her tight
uniform, but, surprisingly, it slid easily off. He removed his
own clothes and wondered what she saw. Did she see the antiseptic
body of an android? For a brief second, he tried to imagine what
she would feel when touching him. But he didn't really care. He
was aroused beyond caring at that moment. The sight of her round
breasts further inflamed him, and he stroked them gently with his
hands until the nipples pointed up, pleading with him to be
kissed. Which he did, very lovingly, as Sam Beckett would, using
his tongue to caress and taste her skin. He moved his hands
slowly over her body until he reached her throbbing mound.
Pressing against it, he caused Deanna to release a pleading sigh.
Deanna instinctively closed her eyes when he began to touch her.
Not for the usual reasons, but because she wanted to be with the
real man, the man her empathic subconscious knew was holding her.
With her eyes open, she was with Data. Data was kissing her,
touching her. A Data with human eyes. A fraud Data. With her
eyes closed, her Betazoid half was in control. She was in the
arms of a warm, strong, breathing man; breathing ardent sweet
breath into her mouth from ecstatic kisses. Running her hands
along his body, she felt firm, rippled muscles, and hair on the
chest. This was not the body of an android. The android body
existed only to her human part, the part that looked with eyes
instead of mind. Her Betazoid self ran her hands along his legs
reaching his erect demanding penis, already fiery and wet from
its own juices. Her Betazoid self could feel his excitement, his
racing heart; could hear his pleading moans. She wanted this
human man. She shut her eyes even tighter and wrapped her legs
around him, begging for penetration.
He pushed himself into her and Deanna reacted to the surge of
intense pleasure by screaming and arching her back. Sam
responded to her cries by thrusting hard and fast, matching her
eagerness. As her arousal reached a plateau of excitement she
opened her eyes and stared directly into the face of a strange
man, a stunning man with warm brown hair and eyes like tree moss.
The image faded gradually and Data's face returned, but Deanna had
lost her sexual edge.
He sensed something was wrong and tried to get her back, holding
on for a few more minutes until he couldn't any longer.
"I'm sorry I can't...," he started to say as she tightened her
arms around him and felt him come deep inside her with hot spurts.
He stifled his climatic moans by burying his face in her hair.
Realizing he had left her behind, he reached down between her legs
with his hand, but she pushed him away.
"You're not Data." she said, staring again into his searing eyes.
"Who are you?"
"Of course I'm Data. What do you mean?"
Deanna stuck two fingers into her wet cunt where Sam's semen had
started to leak out. In one swift movement she wiped the cum over
his lips and licked it off with her tongue. "Androids don't
ejaculate." she said tersely.
"Would you believe me if I told you I was specially programmed to
"I didn't think so." Sam saw no way out; he had to confide in
her and hope it wouldn't mess up whatever mission he was supposed
to accomplish. The truth was, he was relieved and happy to tell
her; to be with a woman as himself instead of someone else. After
getting her solemn oath to never repeat what he was about to say,
he drew her gently into his arms and told her his incredible
story. The more he spoke about himself, the more she was able to
see through the aura to the real Sam.
"...so, you see, I really don't know yet why I'm here and what I
have to do to leap back."
Deanna didn't know, either. She didn't want to know. She wanted
Sam around for as long as possible. Placing his hand between her
legs, she gyrated slowly against him and whispered into his ear,
"There's something we have to finish before you leap again."
Sam grinned tenderly at Deanna, who now saw only the handsome
Doctor Beckett smiling at her.
Al walked into Data's quarters and found Sam pacing back and forth
across the room, staring at the floor. He had no way of knowing
that Sam was crashing hard after his blissful afternoon high with
"Al, I'm glad you're here. I'm having a terrible time with
this leap. There's no way I can do this. I'm not going to fool
"Oh, come on Sam. You've leaped into more sticky situations than
"WHEN? WHEN WAS I EVER ANYONE OR ANYTHING AS WEIRD AS AN ANDROID
ON A SPACESHIP?"
"Well, the first time you became a woman...that must have been
Sam smacked his hand against his forehead in a gesture of
"Listen to me, Al. Being a woman was a piece of cake compared to
this. Even with my IQ and all my advanced degrees, I have no clue
what most of this technology is. This is the 24th century; it
took me an entire day just to figure out how to use the toilet!"
Al gave Sam a puzzled look. "Do androids use toilets?"
"AL!" Sam pleaded, "Ziggy has to get me out of here. Soon I'll
have no choice. I'll have to let everyone know who I am. I can't
do this!" He stepped back a few paces and lowered his eyes, as if
about to confess some guilt. Almost whispering, and with a slight
shrug of the shoulders, he said, "I already had to tell Deanna
Troi, the ship's Counselor."
"YOU TOLD THE BRUNETTE WITH THE BIG KNOCKERS? Sam, you screwed
her, didn't you?"
"None of your business."
"Well, did she believe you?"
"YES, SHE BELIEVED ME! She can see the real me. She's a
half-alien from some planet where people have telepathic
"Really, that's very interesting." Al said to Sam with a mock
serious face. "Any OTHER special abilities?"
Sam wished he could grab Al by the shoulders and shake some
sense into him. He had to be satisfied with yelling and
waving his hands.
"Look, Al, that's part of the problem. I have to deal with all
kinds of things from other worlds. There's Klingons, and
Betazoids, and Trapezoids, and I don't know what else...and I
don't know who sees Data and who sees me, and I DON'T KNOW
WHAT'S GOING ON NINETY PERCENT OF THE TIME!"
Al could see that Sam was totally losing control.
"SAM, GET A GRIP! You're letting yourself go crazy. You gotta
calm down and be careful or you're gonna wind up stuck
here forever." Al took a few seconds to light his cigar and
reflect. "Just stay out of everyone's way and you'll be fine."
Sam collapsed into a chair and cradled his head in his hands.
"I'm all right now. I just had to let off some steam. And I
do have Deanna to help me. At least she can tell me whether or
not I can eat in public."
"Good! See, it's not so bad." Al said, banging away at the
handlink. "Anyway, Ziggy says you can't leap yet because there's
something important going on," more banging on the handlink,
"but DONT'T ask me what."
Later that night, Al stepped into the IC and found himself in
Counselor Troi's quarters. She and Sam were in bed, engaging in
some energetic, noisy sex. Al knew from the way Sam was moving and
the way Deanna was moaning that it would be over soon, so he stood
patiently out of view until the final orgasmic cries were finished
and Sam had collapsed into Deanna's arms.
Moving towards the bed, Al tried to be as gentle as possible.
"Sam, Sam," he whispered.
Sam jumped up in shock. "AL! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?
COULDN'T YOU HAVE WAITED?" Sam was fuming and Deanna had pulled
the blanket up to her neck in a panic, not knowing at first who
was in the room.
"I did wait...oh, you mean until you were back in Data's quarters.
Sorry, but I couldn't wait THAT long."
Sam could tell from Al's face that this was obviously very
important to him. "Fine," he said, directing at him the usual
shake of the head and roll of the eyes upward, "I'll meet you in
my quarters in twenty..." Sam saw Al make a whiney face, "...OK,
OK, TEN minutes. Now get out of here."
Al popped out and Sam gave Deanna a look of playful exasperation.
She was laughing. "Was that your Admiral Calavicci? What a
character." She kissed Sam and hurried him on his way.
Back in his quarters, Sam dropped into a chair, ready to hear
what was so monumental.
Al was very animated as he explained. "Sam, it's incredible!
You should see the setup they have on this ship. There's a place
called the Holodeck where a person can run a program to do almost
anything. And the holograms have force fields around them that
make them like solid objects. Inside the holodeck I can touch
things, and people and other holograms can feel me as if I'm
"Don't tell me, Al," Sam said with a smirk, "I don't want to
know. I'll let this be between you and your horny neurons."
Al gave Sam a teasing look right back, "Hey, after what I just
saw, you better be careful who you call horny." Suddenly
becoming very serious, he continued, "Please Sam, just go to
Holodeck Four right now. I've got it reserved in your name, but
I can't get in without you. Once I'm inside, Ziggy has special
instructions from Data that will keep me centered there until
I'm ready to leave."
Sam didn't have the energy to ask Al how he managed to reserve a
Holodeck in Data's name. He went as asked and had the computer
open the doors and activate the force field. Sam was astonished
that Data had be able to create a holographic program disk that
Al could load into the real computer. 24th century technology
was indeed amazing. Suddenly, the holodeck was converted into
a scene from twentieth century Earth.
"Ok, thanks. You can go now." Al didn't even look at Sam. He
just stood there, staring ahead anxiously.
Sam teased him, grinning, "What's the matter, Al. Don't you want
me to see the wicked and perverted things you're going to do
in here? Aren't two dozen naked women about to jump out from
behind that building?"
Al shook his head, "Sam, this is something very personal and
private. I appreciate the help, but please, I need to be alone."
Al was so somber that Sam just said OK and turned to leave.
Looking just briefly over his shoulder and out the corner of one
eye he saw a woman in a white navy uniform walking towards Al.
With that one glance, he went out the door and left them alone.
Al came the next morning to give Sam some new instructions. The
Holodeck incident was not mentioned; it never would be.
"Ziggy says you're going to leap into Picard for exactly an hour,
starting at nine o'clock this morning. Use the time wisely, if
you know what I mean. Doctor Crusher is one hell of a babe and
she has the hots really bad for this bald captain guy."
Sam looked back at Al with a disgusted expression that immediately
faded to puzzlement.
"Al, WHAT are you taking about? Ziggy doesn't have the capability
of leaping me around wherever she wants. Is something going on
here that I don't know about?"
"Well, Data and Ziggy gerry-rigged this. Data has to return to
the Enterprise for about an hour to check a computer calculation,
so we have to displace you into someone else. Ziggy says it's all
related to why you're here."
Sam started nervously pacing around, not pleased with this turn
of events. Being Data wasn't easy, but he was learning to cope
and the relationship with Deanna had given him a few moments of
peace and happiness. He was in no mood to start all over again
being someone else, even for just an hour.
"Why the Captain? Why can't I leap into Doctor Crusher? At least
she's got a job that I might be able to fake."
"Noooo, I'm afraid that won't work. See, right now Picard is
having Sunday breakfast with Beverly Crusher and he's being just
a little too polite. We need you to take over and STIR things
up a bit. You can only do that if you're the Captain. It
WON'T work if you're the Doctor. Capish?"
Sam put his hand on his head and winced.
"Al, this is a joke, right?"
"No, no joke. Ziggy thinks that part of your mission here is to
reve up their relationship that's been going nowhere for years.
There's," he banged the handlink, "an 86 percent probability that
if you don't get the Captain and the Doc together this morning,
Beverly Crusher will stay a very lonely woman."
"Al, can't you see this is some ridiculous nonsense that Ziggy
is making up. There's no way she can know what's going to happen
to Beverly Crusher. I can't believe I'm here just to make sure
that the Doctor gets screwed by the Captain. I'm not doing it,
Al, I'm not leaping!" He sat down in a huff and folded his
arms resolutely across his chest.
"You don't know that, Sam. We have no idea what Ziggy and Data
are doing. There's alot of brain power between the two of them.
Maybe they've invented a," Al twisted his hands around in a make-
believe knot, "spacetime continuum gagamagook thing that lets
them see through wormholes into the future."
"Well, Al, why don't you just go in there and FIND OUT!"
"Not so easy. Since Ziggy started exchanging microcode with Data
she's gotten a bit...temperamental."
"And where's Gooshie?"
"She issued him a big bonus and sent him on three weeks vacation."
"Well, that's just great. Ziggy's having cybersex with Data and
leaving me hanging high and dry. Maybe we should just build her
a body and the two of them can live happily ever after."
Al took a big puff on his cigar and looked thoughtfully off into
the distance. "Maybe that's what they're doing."
Sam shot a look of disgust at Al, who just shrugged his shoulders,
knocked the handlink, and blew a deep sigh.
"The bottom line is, Sam, are you willing to risk it? Are you
sure Ziggy's wrong? I think you better reconsider and do what she
says. Besides, you don't have much choice. You're going to be
Captain Picard in about..." Al hit the handlink again, "15
