Sky Tower BBS
The time is 20:38 and I've just got off the phone. It was Enzo, the sysop at Sky
Tower. He got busted today. The cops came to his place at around 7 am with
a warrant (a year old!) and took all his equipment, Amiga, monitors,
modems, his PC, dat, etc. and took him to the police station.
It has not been clarified exactly what the charges will be, but it's likely
they know about the sale of DAT-tapes. But as usual, the cops might not be
too smart (we've seen that before) so maybe nothing much happens.
As a user you shouldn't worry. Even though they might find your handle or
maybe even a phonenumber (dunno how) they can't really do you anything,
since there is no law against calling a bulletin board service.
Enzo did not know anything about when/if he gets his equipment back, so he
couldn't say when/if he would be back and running.
Therefore I suggest you stop calling Sky Tower as it won't be online for
quite a while - if ever.
A shame, since it was - whether you liked it or not - the best all-round
bbs in dk. Nowhere else could you find such a good collection of software
for all major formats.
I will personally miss the board since I have been calling it for 3-4
years, and Enzo has become a good friend of mine. Let's wish him luck on
this one, ok?
By the way, he's not the only one to get busted. He managed to get some
information stating that they do have the numbers of several danish boards.
And Amiga-only boards are NO LONGER SAFE! So take care, perhaps keeping a
low profile for a while.
