Default Just got someone elses check in the mail.

Someone who lived here over 5 years ago got mail and it was a check for $75. Is it possible to cash it anonymously?

haha win!
If the person is the same gender as you, i would just make/buy a fake id.
You would hardly make any profit from this transaction (if at all) because fake id's can be kind of spendy. But fake id's are super usefull

Lightbulb Re: Just got someone elses check in the mail.

When I think of this senario I always wonder if checks can be sold to people or if I could just deposit it in my local ATM (and act stupid....)

Odds are you can actually deposit it in your bank. Sign the back. If you get any shit, just show them the envelope it came in, addressed to you, and play dumb.

Sell me a fake ID that will actually pass on someone that cards you for an amount anywhere near $75 and I will link you to a video of me crying and begging/bowing on webcam.

Paying $50+ for a a fake ID to cash a $75 cheque is retarded. Just do what everyone else does, leave it in your mailbox for the mailman to come pick it up and direct it to its proper addressee.

What if it's a bigger cheque? All you need to cash a cheque is a fake Photo ID right?

Someone could print a new check or try changing it to a large amount. As long as they got the account numbers right and printed it correctly it would work.

Endorse it over to you; use different pens and color and different writing style.

So instead of posting a new topic Ill put it in here. I came across a 370 dollar check. Now instead of cashing it signed over to me or putting it in my atm (because I dont want to get arrested for either) Im thinking about having someone else cash it in there name and pay them 20-25 dollars. wait outside the cash checking place, convince a stranger I lost my ID etc. anyhoo any other ideas?

Hard to cash them at a check cashing place without ID. The best you can do is deposit it in your account and claim ignorance / mistake if you ever get called out.

Yeah I was thinking about telling someone I dont have an id and that if they cash it for me (I sign it over as the person on the check) and give them say 25 dollars for cashing it. any other ways besides con'ing someone?

You could wash the check, but it's a bitch. 80% chance of destroying the check if you're doing it for the first time.
